Organic Spatchcock Chicken
Also called "Flattened" or "butterflied" chicken, the back-bone is removed to allow for a more efficient cooking time and improve evenness of cooking. This chicken is a really easy and delicious dinner solution with simple, clean ingredients, so you can feel great about feeding it to your family. Just pop it in the oven and pair it with your favorite veggies, rice, noodles or whatever else you have in your kitchen. It's easy and pairs so well with nearly every side side. Pre-seasoned to make your life easy!
Preparation:
Conventional Oven:
Preheat oven to 375F. Place chicken skin side up, on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake 60 - 80 mins or until a minimum internal temp of 180F is reached.
BBQ:
Preheat one side of the BBQ to High. Place chicken skin side down, on the oiled grill on the unheated side of the BBQ. Close the lid and cook for 45 mins. Turn the chicken over and continue cooking for 15-30 minutes or until a minimum internal temp of 180F has been reached.
Keep refrigerated or frozen.
When preparing chicken, keep raw poultry separate from other foods. Wash working surfaces (including cutting boards, utensils, and hands) after touching raw poultry.
Cook thoroughly. If cooking whole, a meat thermometer inserted in the inner thigh should read 185ºF (85ºC).
